Louisville loves Halloween. There are so many events for kids of all ages and many are free. We even have a Halloween parade!

Throughout the Season

Louisville Halloween is excited to announce a six-week Halloween Festival called ULTIMATE HALLOWEEN FEST  taking place at two locations. The festival will run Fridays and Saturdays September 24th through October 23rd at Pope Lick Park and October 29th -31st at Paristown. Attractions for all ages include the Legend at Pope Lick Haunted Woods, Jack Lantern's Light Show, Rocky Horror Picture Show with a Shadow Cast, Scary Movies on the big screen, Oktoberfest Beer Garden, and much more. Ultimate Halloween Fest will also feature live performances nightly by the Crashers, Cirque Legende, and more. They also recently announced the addition of Balloon Glow on Friday, October 22nd at Pope Lick
Park.

Homerun Halloween at Louisville Slugger Museum, Trick or treat yo' self! Beginning October 10th, Sundays in October will be fangtastic with half-off kids admission, special-edition mini bats and pre-packaged candy.

The American HorrorPlex: Walk through the rusted and ramshackle gates to enter the Louisville area's award winning haunted attraction. Screams fill the air as you wait your turn to explore the haunted halls, wander through a maze of maniacs, and try to escape with your mind and soul intact. Open every Friday and Saturday night, from 8pm until 2am. Sep 17, 2021 – Oct 30th, 2021.Best for older children

Halloween on Hillcrest is a legendary street for decorations in the Ville. If you are looking for a street to visit this Halloween, take a walk down Hillcrest to check out some of the most elaborate decorations you will find in any neighborhood in town. For 2021: Some homeowners will be decorating but not as many as normal. There will NOT be a street wide trick or treat on Halloween night due to a construction project by Louisville Water Company blocking traffic.

Thursdays in October: Kentucky Derby Museum offers a Horses & Haunts Tour. Check with them for Covid-19 updates.

Pirates of PRP is located at Seaforth Drive, Louisville, KY 40258 for the Pirate/Halloween lovers in us all! Check their Facebook page for updates.

Creepy Things Evening Tours at Idlewild. This 30-45 minute tour takes you behind the scenes of a Butterfly Farm where butterflies are raised, and includes Idlewild's USDA Containment Facility with a variety of insects both exotic and local. Guided by a degreed Entomologist you can get up close with lots of cool bugs and learn all about their interesting life cycles and habits. October 22, 28, 29, 30. Tickets required.

Waverly Hills will not have a haunted house but has added more dates for tours and overnights. Tickets available.

Blue's Light Show (4602 Glenna Way) is putting on a Halloween light show display for everyone. Show days & times are as followed: Wednesdays and Sundays 7:30pm-9:30pm. Fridays & Saturdays 7:30pm-10:30pm. The last week of October starting the 26th runs everyday from 7pm-10pm until November 1st. Make sure to tune your radio to 91.3FM to hear the music.


Louisville Boo at the Zoo: Oct. 1 – 30, Thursday through Sunday nights. Boo at the Zoo is rain or shine, no refunds or exchanges. To help manage attendance, all tickets must be purchased in advance on their website. Masks are strongly encouraged for this after-hours event and are required in all indoor areas, including restaurants and restrooms, for age guests 5 and older. Tickets are on sale now.

Tickets: Tickets are $12.50 for non-members (both adults and children) and $6 for members (both adults and children). Children 2 and under are free and do not require a ticket. Tickets include Boo at the Zoo admission, parking, Spooktacular Carousel, "not-so itsy bitsy" Spider House and the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow attraction. Meijer Anytime Tickets are $10.50 and are available starting September 26th.

Halloween guests can begin entering the Zoo at their selected times, starting at 5 p.m. The trick-or-treat route closes at 10 p.m.


Continuing its tradition of a fall site-specifi production for Halloween, Kentucky Shakespeare will present Jeffrey Hatcher's two-actor adaptation of the Henry James horror novella THE TURN OF THE SCREW in their new headquarters in historic Old Louisville. The production runs from October 6th – 31st at 616 Myrtle Street, in KY Shakespeare's rehearsal/community space.

The Autumn Express at Kentucky Railway Museum. Enjoy magic with Aaron Harp Magic, photo opportunities with Spike the Bear, pick a pumpkin, ride our live diesel amusement train and bounce and slide in the fun house.

3rd Annual Monster Mash – October 2nd, inflatables during games, costumed themed ball games, trick or treat trail, and haunted trail.

Screen Print Candy Bags, October 9th at the Kentucky Science Center, 1:00pm. Create the perfect candy bag this spooky season as you learn the art of screen printing. From digital design to final product, our educators will lead you through the entire process. Open to ages 8+. Please note that one adult is required to attend the workshop for every two children. Fee is required.

Jucy's Smokehouse Bar-B-Q – October 10th, from 5:00-8:00pm. We can't wait to see all the kiddos. We will be dressed up, ready to go, with candy, goodie bags, costume contest, raffles, and FREE HOMEMADE CHILI.

Park Community Credit Union & FEAT of Louisville present the 5th annual Trunk or Treat for Special Needs. This FREE event will be filled with festive decorations, costumes and plenty of treats. We welcome all special needs individuals and their families to join in on the fun. No matter your age or ability, this event is for you! October 16th, 4:00-6:00pm

Fall Festival at Logan Street Market, October 16th starting at 1:00pm. Costume contests, tarot card readings, fall foods, and more.

Pumpkin Painting at Kentucky Science Center, October 16th at 1:00pm. We provide the pumpkins and you provide the creativity for our always popular Pumpkin Painting workshop. Take home a one-of-a-kind artwork perfect for your front porch. Open to ages 8+. Please note that one adult is required to attend the workshop for every two children. Fee is required.

Annual Victorian Ghost Walk – 3 days only, October 15, 16, and 17th. Part walking tour, part porch play, David Dominé's Victorian Ghost Walk ® brings together local acting talent to showcase the Old Louisville Preservation District and raise funds for neighborhood organizations.

Sunfish Pumpkin Regatta, Louisville Sailing Club, October 16-17th.

Sunny Acres Farm Pumpkin Festival  Admission is $5 per person. Hayrides, petting zoo, bounce houses and pumpkin carving stations– all weather permitting. October 16th and 17th.

Halloween in Highview Park October 17th, 5pm to 8pm. We look forward to meeting the community and can't wait to see the kids in their costumes. Organized by the 7th Division, LMPD.

Story Time with Miss Prim: Costume Party, October 20th at 10:00am. Come dressed in costume and we will have lots of fun! Barrel train ride, dancing with ribbons, bubbles and more!

Trick or Treat at the Ballpark, October 22nd at Louisville Slugger Field. Come out in costume and enjoy a different Halloween experience in a safe, family-friendly environment. Kids may trick-or-treat on the concourse from 6:30-8:00 PM as participating sponsors will be set up with treats for the children. All attendees are welcome to stay for a special movie showing of Hocus Pocus on our huge high-definition video boards beginning at 8:00 PM.

Halloween in Brown Park will be held on October 23rd from 11:00am – 3:00pm!

Middletown's Annual Trick or Treat, October 23rd from 10:00am-12:00pm. Free trick or treating for children 12 and under, bounce houses, music, a booth decorating contest, and more.

Spooky Make-Up for Teens at the Northeast Library. Up your costume game and learn how to create incredible make up effects from a University of Louisville theatrical make up artist. October 23rd from 1:00-3:00pm

Spooky Saturday at the Library: October 23rd, Get excited for Halloween with stories, crafts and activities. Ages 3-8, 10:30-11:30am, Cresent Hill Library.

Nightmare in NULU: October 23rd, businesses will be passing out candy from Muth's and non-candy gift bags sponsored by Six Sisters Boutique, while supplies lasts.
This is a kid friendly event. Costumes are encouraged, as are masks for any indoor traffic. 12:00 – 4:00pm.

All Hallows Eve Celebration, October 23rd from 5:00-8:00pm at the New Albany Shoreline. Trunk or treating, ghost stories, a magician and more!

Halloween Decor-Latern Making at Kentucky Science Center, October 23rd at 1:00pm. Show your creative side as you design, build, decorate your own Halloween décor. Jeffersonville Parks & Recreation will host Big Four Boo Fest from 5-9pm at Big 4 Station park in Jeffersonville on Monday, October 25th! Trick or treating, food trucks, games, and more. Distancing and masks are strongly encouraged.

Come have a spooky time at PRP's first Trunk or Treat! Event will be held on the track of our football field. One non perishable food item or $1 per child for entry. 5:30-7:30pm

Trick or Treats at the Northeast Library on Friday, October 29th from 6:00-8:00pm. Show off your costume and come out for treats, games, stories, activities and more! There will be a costume contest.

Zombies have invaded the Library! It's time to test your survival skills and see if you can survive a Zombie invasion. Participants will engage in a game of Zombie throughout the entire library—looking for rations and supplies to help them survive as they evade the zombies. Northeast Library, October 29th from 8:30-10:00pm.

Haunted Heritage Camping Weekend at Lanesville Heritage Park: Join us for the 2nd annual Haunted Heritage Event Friday October 29 – Sunday October 31. Featuring: Trick or Treating, Food Trucks, Hay Rides, Halloween movie the 29th and so much more!

Join us along with Kaiman & Crahan, Harbor House, Q103.1, and Mix 106.9 for our Drive Thru Trunk or Treat Event! This event will take place on October 29th from 4:30 – 9:00pm at Harbor House in Louisville.

Just like last year, Zoneton Fire Department will be going to neighborhoods to pass out candy, October 27th – 29th. Check their Facebook page for specific times/locations. They are acception candy donations as well.

Trunk or Treat – New Albany annual event is back. October 29th, 6:00pm, at New Albany Riverfront Amphitheater. Bring the whole family out for games, bounce houses and inflatables, a climbing rock wall, lazer tag, and trick or treating! Be sure to stick around after the trick or treating ends for a showing of Halloween time favorite HOCUS POCUS!

Drive In in the Park, October 29th from 5:00pm-9:00pm at Skyview Park. Join us for a frighteningly good time with a showing of 'Hocus Pocus' for our last Drive In in the Park of the season with a costume contest before the film! *Date has changed to October 30th due to weather!

Check out The Boneyard KY  – It's in the Camden Manor neighborhood of Crestwood (5305 Old Herring Place) and bigger and better than ever! The yard display will be up with an all new light show and we will be doing the indoor walk through haunted house as well. We should be running for 3 nights. Oct 29, 30 and 31st! As always it's FREE and great for all ages.

The Spirits of LaGrange Ghost Tour is a two-hour candlelit walking tour on October 30th and 31st. The tour takes you inside locations with about eight stops along the way for a distance of 12 blocks. Tours depart from the La Grange Welcome Center. Tours are not recommended for children under 12.

Halloween Hunt – EP Tom Sawyer State Park, October 30th, 12:00pm – 3:00pm. Bring the whole family and hunt for Halloween treats! You'll use a GPS enabled device to input coordinates, which will lead you to various locations on the park. Each location will have a Halloween character that you'll have to find and once you find all of the characters, return to the activities building to claim your treat bag! $5/person, cash only please

Storytellers is back at Stage One and it's spooky! On October 30th, we'll be gathering for the interactive, engaging storytime series that incorporates music, movement, reading and acting to help kids ages eighteen months to eight years develop the building blocks to literacy and a lifelong love of theatre. ROOM ON THE BROOM, VUNCE UPON A TIME and GHOSTS IN THE HOUSE will be brought to life by our Storytellers artists! Costumes are encouraged! Halloween MAINia in La Grange from 11am-3pm on October 30th. We will have booths with activities and the Candy Swap Shop for children who need to can swap out their candy for other treats.

Halloween Night Hike at Louisville Nature Center, October 30th from 6:30pm – 8:30pm. This Halloween weekend, throw on a trail friendly costume and explore our mysterious forest at night as we search for nocturnal forest friends. This is an all ages program!

Pumpkin Painting Contest, October 30th at Union 15-South End, 1:00-3:00pm. You bring the pumpkin, they have the rest. Giveaways, prizes, and more!

Join Minnie's Pizza and Paint Shop for pre-stenciled Halloween paintings and Spooky wooden magnets + take home a treat bag on October 30th! 4:00-8:00pm

Spooky Paint Pouring at the Kentucky Science Center, October 30th at 1:00pm. Explore the world of pour art in this classic MakerPlace Workshop with a Halloween twist! Discover the different techniques and additives used to change the viscosity and behaviors of acrylic-based paint (including glow-in-the-dark and UV-reactive selections!) as you create your own spooky canvas. Open to ages 8+. Please note that one adult is required to attend the workshop for every two children. Fee is required.

Halloween Hoopla, October 30th from 3:00-6:00pm. Trick or treating and live performances (by ACT Louisville Productions) will take place at St. Matthew's Station, 3900 Shelbyville Rd. FREE. Enjoy song and dance numbers from ACT Louisville Productions, interact with a balloon artist and magician, and record messages of hope to kids fighting cancer with Superman at the Kids Join the Fight Station. Easy Access parking can be found across the street behind Smoothie King on Shelbyville Rd.

Haunted Walk Through, October 30th from 5:00-10:00pm. 831 Hillview blvd, 5pm – 9pm. 30 plus Animatronics, fog machines, candy and Halloween music!

Real Haunted Happenings, Dark Corners of Corydon: Explore spooky and sometimes grim history during a lantern-guided tour of historic downtown Corydon. Visit a variety of locations, including the Capitol and the Governor's Headquarters where guides will share stories of unexplained happenings in the 200-year-old buildings. October 30th at 8:00pm and 9:30pm (registration required).

Step aboard the historic steamer Belle of Louisville for a Hull-o-ween Family Cruise full of fun for the entire family! Guests will have the opportunity to explore the 107-year-old vessel with their very own Ghost Guide, stopping along their journey to hear terrible tales inspired by the antique steamboat's own history and the murky depths of the Ohio River. But it's not all spooks and scares! Halloween-themed crafts, activities and music will also be featured, followed by a trick-or-treating event at the end of the cruise. Costumes are encouraged for this Halloween cruise, but not required. October 30th at 1:00pm.

Norton Commons Fall Festival, 2:00pm – 5:00pm, October 30th. Join us for for trick-or-treating, train rides and face painting. There's fun for all ages and costumes are encouraged!

Trick or Treat at the Track – October 31st, starting at 11:30am. Churchill Downs and our charitable partners invite little ghouls and goblins to Trick-or-Treat at the Track during Family Adventure Day presented by Kroger. Enjoy Halloween fun under the Twin Spires, a day of thrilling racing, and activities for kids under 12.

Roll out to Champ's Halloween Party on Sunday, October 31st! We've got a family friendly session lined-up with a Balloon Drop, Games, Prizes and more! Wear your favorite costume to receive $3 off the price of admission. 2:00-5:00pm

Boo Dell at Yew Dell, October 31st, 12pm-4pm. Trail-o-Treats, roaming magicians, a performance by School of Rock Louisville, and other surprises! Members are free, non-members have a fee. All tickets must be purchased in advance. (Children 5 and under are free)

CANCELLED FOR 2021: Louisville Halloween Parade and Festival, 12 – 9 pm. Family-friendly Halloween fun including an all-new street festival from featuring craft booths and live entertainment. The highlight of the event is the 17th Annual Louisville Halloween Parade taking place at 6pm. Don't miss the fun!

CANCELLED FOR 2021 The Haunted Hike at Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve offers Halloween fun for the entire family! This kid-friendly event features a mile-long Fantasy Kiddie Trail with lots of trick and treat stations, a Harvest Hay Village, Inflatable Party Zone, self-tours of our comic Haunted House, jungle hayrides, treat stations, face painting and fun activities for the entire family. 3 pm – 7 pm.

CANCELLED for 2021: Halloween Hunt in New Albany – MUSICAL! October 31 from 2-4pm. Musicians stations along stops and go on a scavenger hunt for treats! And, enjoy music along the way.
